On Monday, 9th September, Mudeford Phoenix had the honour of welcoming AFC Bournemouth’s Women’s team manager, Steve Cuss, and team captain, Abby Jones, to our club for a heartwarming and inspiring visit. Their visit was not just a show of support but a tangible gesture of goodwill that has left a lasting impact on our club and our community.
Recently, Mudeford Phoenix faced the unfortunate experience of having our goals vandalised, which was a significant blow to our team and the girls who look forward to every game. When AFC Bournemouth became aware of our situation, they stepped forward with an incredible offer of help. Through their Community Fund, the club made a generous donation to assist us in replacing our damaged equipment. Steve Cuss and Abby Jones were keen to present this donation in person, showing their solidarity and commitment to helping grassroots football thrive, even in the face of setbacks.
The event was a great opportunity for the girls and coaches at Mudeford Phoenix to meet role models like Steve and Abby, whose passion for the game and leadership are truly inspiring. It was not just about the financial support; it was about showing the importance of community, unity, and resilience.
A massive thank you goes out to AFC Bournemouth for their generosity and support. Their contribution will go a long way in ensuring that our players can continue to play the game they love. The entire Mudeford Phoenix family is incredibly grateful and proud to be part of such a supportive footballing community.
Here’s to a bright future for our girls and a huge thank you once again to AFC Bournemouth!
