Life's a Beach for Mudeford Under 18's

Mudeford Phoenix G.L.F.C. is proud to report that our Under 18's squad had a fantastic showing at the beach football UK Super Cup Championships sponsored by Forza that recently took part on the Isle of Wight.

The tournament is the UK's most fiercely competed event in both the Men's and Women's Cups showcasing the very best talent, teams, players, coaches, and officials over three days of beach soccer. Mudeford Phoenix had entered the Ladies' tournament aiming to win one of the famous sand-made trophies designed and made by artist Jeff Dyson and potentially enter into the European Cup next summer.

The Women's Super Cup saw teams battles across the group stages with the best four teams progressing to the knockout stages with Mudeford Phoenix reaching the knockout stages. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be our day with the girl's showing some great moments in an unfortunate 5-0 loss to IWBSA. The fact that IWBSA had a host of England Internationals including Katie Scadding, Gemma Hillier, Hannah Short and Chole Marsahll and captained by former World player of the year Sarah Kempson means the girls can hold their heads high!
