PHOENIX NEWS

The Phoenix and East Christchurch Children’s Christmas Party will take place at 6.30 p.m. on Sunday 11th December 2011 at Grange Road.

This event is for all Phoenix girls, Phoenix siblings (boys and girls) and ECSSC children (boys and girls), under the age of sixteen. As usual, all parents are expected to attend this event to supervise their children. Grandparents and extended family members whatever their age!!! are very welcome.

More details will be published nearer the date.

FOOTBALL BOOTS AND EQUIPMENT WANTED

Have you got any football boots (any size), shin pads, goal- keepers’ gloves or replica kits that your daughter or son no longer need?

If you have, why not donate them to Phoenix so that they can be recycled and given to ’new start’ players.

All donations can be given to Frank on Monday nights - please telephone 07957 439091 if you want further information.

DOGS ON ECSSC PLAYING FIELDS

.
Recently there have been several incidents involving people from the local community exercising their dogs on the ECSSC playing fields. The dogs’ deposits that have been left behind have implications to the health of the ground staff and those using the fields for sporting and recreational purposes.

Dogs have never been allowed on the football and cricket playing fields at ECSSC.

ECSSC have now placed signs around the grounds that highlight the no dogs ruling.

Many of our Phoenix parents and supporters own dogs and bring them to matches. In order that we comply with the ECSSC no dogs rule and the terms of our agreement which allows us to use the football fields, I would ask all dog owners connected with Phoenix, in whatever capacity, to leave their dogs at home

Volunteers

We need more volunteers to support the Club, specifically someone to help collect the subs on a Monday evening at 4.30 p.m.

We also need a person or persons wiling to help with organisation of the social events within the Club.

If you can help, please contact Frank as soon as possible.

CLUB COLOURS

It has been decided that in recognition of a player’s commitment and loyalty to Phoenix GLFC we will, at the end of each season, award club colours to all players who have represented Phoenix for a continuous period of three years. This award will be in the form of a cap

The Club newsletter will no longer be issued to internet users.
