Club Presentation Day
The Phoenix Club Presentation Day Football Youth Teams and Ladies’ Team will take place at ECSSC, Grange Road on Sunday 7th June 2009 at midday.
Once again it is hoped that the presentation will be preceded by a match between The Ladies’ Team and The Chairman’s Eleven K.O 10.30
More information will be circulated nearer the time.
New Addition
Our latest Phoenix baby, the U10/U9 Team had its first
match last weekend against the Phoenix U11 Team. They held their own in what
was a keenly contested match, losing
7 – 0. Despite the score, this was an excellent performance against
Kerry’s Team which has remained unbeaten for the past two seasons.
We require more players for this age group which is
made up of girls from school years 3, 4 and 5.
Waitrose Community Matters Award
Waitrose have selected our U10 Team as one of the three local groups to receive a donation from its Community Matters monthly award scheme for the month of March 2009.
Any funds received will go towards the provision of a kit for the U10 Team for season 2009/10.
The level of funding received is dependent on customers placing a green disc in one of the three charity boxes to be found near the till area. Customers are given a green disc for every attendance, however small the purchase.
PLEASE SUPPORT the U10 Team – pop into Waitrose during the month of March and place your discs in the Phoenix Charity Box.
Remember, you don’t have to buy all
your groceries in the store in order to get a green disc – buy something
small, a newspaper or that essential box of chocolates – don’t
forget Mothering Sunday 22nd March.
